  • How much do tickets cost?
    Single Ticket: $36* (includes booking fee) VIP Ticket: $79* (includes booking fee) Family Ticket: $122* (includes booking fee) FREE entry for children under 2 years old. Please note children under will need to sit on a parents lap during the show. * Booking fees apply. ​ Family ticket only available for evening shows.
  • What types of tickets are there?
    There are three types of tickets: Standard, VIP and Family.
  • What does the Standard ticket include?
    The standard ticket includes two and a half hours of unlimited festive fun including all of our activities: Interactive Walkthrough: Experience the magic of Christmas in this interactive walk-through under the big top tent. You’ll be able to see, hear, touch, and smell all the wonders of the season. A 45 minute performance featuring Sesame Street’s very own Elmo & Cookie Monster as well as thrilling performances from Circus Royale. Each session will run into each other creating 45 minutes of pure exhilaration. See Santa: No trip to Christmas Under the Big Top is complete without a visit to Santa himself. You can even take photos with him for an additional charge. Mrs Claus’ Bakery: Decorate your own delicious treat and savor your creation at Mrs Claus’ Bakery. Elf’s Workshop: Spend some time with the cheeky elves creating special take-home crafts. Mrs Claus Storytelling Corner: Join Mrs Claus for some festive storytelling and carols that are sure to put everyone in the Christmas spirit. North Pole Post Office: Write and send off your letter to Santa with the help of special letter writing elves. Sesame Street Meet and Greet: Enjoy the music and fun of ‘The Sesame Street Christmas Show’ and meet Elmo and Cookie Monster for a photo opportunity. Roaming Christmas Friends: Meet Christmas elves, a walking / talking Christmas bauble, plum pudding, the snow queen, and the Christmas bear all frantically preparing for the busiest time of year. They’re never too busy to say hello and stop for a selfie with you. Santa Land: Take a sneak peek into Santa Land through his loungeroom window and see just what Santa is up to as the big day draws nearer. Stacka-Blocks: Let your creativity flow in this free play block construction zone where your creations are limited only by your imagination. We have a jaw dropping mega slide, jumping castle AND a teacup ride all included in your ticket price. (please note merchandise, games, food and drinks are all an additional cost)
  • What does the VIP ticket include?
    The VIP ticket includes all of the Standard ticket inclusions plus: Your very own VIP Lanyard. Priority access to the start of your session. VIP entry (front of line access) to visit Santa* and all other activations at the event. VIP seating at the Sesame Street and Circus Show. Food Voucher (to redeem) for Chicken Nuggets or Hot Dog + Chips + Small Drink. Complimentary gift from the Toy Shop. All members of a group or family must have VIP tickets to enjoy VIP benefits. An adult accompanying a child with a VIP ticket must also have a VIP ticket. * Santa photo is an additional cost.
  • What does the Family ticket include?
    The family ticket includes standard ticket admission for four. At least one member of the group must be over 18 years old. Family tickets are only available for evening shows.
  • Do adults and kids both need tickets?
    Only children under 2 can enter free of charge. Ticket prices are the same for adults and kids. All family members wanting to enjoy VIP ticket benefits must hold a VIP ticket.
  • What is NOT included in all ticket prices?
    Santa photos, merchandise, carnival games, food and drinks are NOT included in the ticket price.
  • Are photos with Santa included in the ticket price?
    All guests can visit Santa for free (children will receive a free gift). Photos with Santa can be purchased on-site for an additional cost. There is no pre-booking for photos, just line-up to see Santa during your session.
  • Do you accept Companion Cards? If so, how do we book?
    Yes we do. Please book via the Christmas Under the Big Top phone line to arrange tickets. Please call 0474 220 050.
  • Where can I purchase tickets?
    Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster or by contacting one of our friendly Christmas Elves on 0474 220 050.
  • Are tickets available for sale on location on the day at the event?
    Limited tickets will be sold on location but don’t wait until the last minute! We expect most sessions to sell out in advance so suggest you purchase your tickets before you arrive on the day.
  • Is Ticketmaster the only online ticket seller where I can purchase tickets?
    Yes. Ticketmaster is our official ticketing partner and ALL genuine and authentic online ticket sales to the event are through Ticketmaster. Tickets being promoted for sales through other third party ticket resellers are tickets that may not be valid if purchased.
  • I have seen tickets for sale on ticket reselling websites, can I purchase these?
    Ticketmaster is our official ticketing partner and the ONLY site for online ticket sales. DO NOT purchase from ticket reselling sites as they are not verified nor can these tickets be guaranteed as legitimate.
  • Do I need to print my tickets?
    No, we can scan your tickets directly from your phone or from a printout if you have it handy.
  • Do you offer ticket discounts for group bookings?
    Please contact one of our friendly Christmas Elves on 0474 220 050 to discuss our group booking options for groups of 20 or more.
  • Who can I talk to about a private session for a private business or corporate group?
    We would love to host your business or a corporate group for a private session. Please contact one of our friendly Christmas Elves on 0474 220 050 to discuss details.
  • Can we purchase tickets to an entire session for my work Christmas party and/or social club?
    Yes. We are open to working with businesses to cater for their work Christmas party or social club plans. Please contact one of our friendly Christmas Elves on 0474 220 050 to discuss details.
  • What happens if I've lost my ticket and I can't remember my session time?
    Please contact Ticketmaster with your credit card that you used and full personal details and they will find your booking.
  • We accidentally booked the wrong date, how can I change my booking date and time?
    Please contact Ticketmaster for help If you are still having trouble, please call 0474 220 050 and we will assist.
  • We can no longer attend as planned. Is it possible to get a refund?
    There is no Refund Policy but we are happy to exchange tickets to another date.
  • What time do the doors open?
    Doors open at the session time stated on your ticket. Your ticket allows you access to the event for 2 and a half hours from the session time stated on your ticket.
  • How long does each session last?
    All sessions run for 2 and a half hours.
  • Can I stay longer than the 2 hour and a half hour session?
    Unfortunately, no. At the end of the session, doors close allowing us to prepare for the next session.
  • Is this the same event as last year's Christmas event?
    Christmas under the Big Top is a brand new event for 2023 - a 2.5 hour session unlike any other. Did you hear? We are featuring two of Melbourne's Favorites - The cast of Sesame Street AND Circus Royale making up 45 minutes of our festive encounter. Come, get a taste of our NEW enchanting walkthrough experience and allow us to transport you to the heart of Christmas.
  • Is the event undercover?
    Yes. This Christmas event is held Under the Big Top.
  • Is there food available at the event?
    Yes! There are plenty of delicious food and drink options available on site to satisfy those cravings, from an aromatic cup of freshly brewed coffee to steaming hot chips and fresh donuts. From light snacks to food offerings that are a little heartier.
  • Is the event pram friendly?
    Due to fire and safety regulations this is not a pram friendly event. Carriers are welcome and pram parking will be available upon entry of the event. Christmas Under the Big Top cannot take responsibility for prams left unattended during the event.
  • Is the event accessibility friendly?
    Yes. The event takes place on a single level with the aisle being a minimum width of 2.4m. There is also accessibility parking on site at the event.
  • Is the event suitable for those with sensory needs?
    The event does include a reasonable level of noise, lights and live entertainment with music and crowds. Generally, week day sessions are less crowded so may be more suitable.
  • Are there toilets and parenting rooms on site?
    Yes, there are toilets and parenting rooms available on site, including accessibility toilets.
  • What is Rudolph’s Birthday Party session?
    Our Rudolph's Birthday sessions include the following additional elements: The one-and-only Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be in attendance to meet children Visitors can enjoy a slice of Rudolph's birthday cake Children will receive a cupcake and lollie bag upon arrival Everyone can join in the festivities and sing Happy Birthday to Rudolph
  • Is this event alcohol and smoke free?
    This is an alcohol and smoke free event.
  • Privacy Policy - Data Collection
    We only collect data from Ticketmaster if the card holder purchasing the ticket/s has ticked the box and approved to be contacted at another time. We do not collect or sell data. All data collected is kept secure with Ticketmaster.
    The show will begin one hour into the event. We will be sure to make multiple announcements so that all patrons are aware. Please note the Sesame Street and circus show will run into each other making up 45 minutes of entertainment. The show is included in the ticket price.
  • Where can I park?
    Parking onsite is strictly reserved for those who hold a disability permit. A prompt arrival is encouraged for those who will need to utilize this. Alternatively, parking is available nearby on Yarra Blvd and Swan Street via council rules.
  • Public Transport
    Public transport is the best way to travel to this event. The closest tram stop is #17 on Swan Street. Public Transport Victoria can help you plan your journey with most choosing to hop on the tram from the city to Burnley Oval. NO PARKING AVAILABLE ON SITE. ACCESSIBILITY PARKING AVAILABLE ONLY.
